Privacy policy
VP IT Consulting (“we”, “us”), a sole proprietorship based in British Columbia, respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, and how we protect it, in line with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, where it applies, British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
What we collect
When you send us a message. Our contact form asks for your name and email address, and optionally your phone number, company name and size, whether you’re an existing client, the service you’re interested in, how urgent your request is, your preferred way to be contacted, and your message. If you email or call us directly, we receive the details you choose to share.
When you visit the site. Like any website, our hosting provider automatically processes technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, so the site can be delivered and protected from abuse. We don’t use cookies, analytics, advertising trackers or social media plugins.
Why we use it
We use the information you send us only to:
- reply to your enquiry and discuss the services you asked about
- provide, and keep records of, any services you engage us for
- keep the website secure and working properly
We don’t sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we don’t use it for marketing without your consent. By sending us a message, you consent to us using your details for these purposes. You can withdraw your consent at any time by emailing us, though we may then be unable to help with your request.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with the service providers that help us run our business, and only as much as they need:
- Microsoft Azure hosts this website and delivers contact form messages to us by email (Azure Static Web Apps and Azure Communication Services).
- Microsoft 365 stores our email and business records.
These providers are contractually required to protect your information. They may store or process it outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to the laws of that country. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries only as long as we need them. If you don’t become a client, we delete your message and details within two years. If you do become a client, we keep records for as long as our relationship lasts and as long afterwards as tax and legal obligations require.
How we protect it
We protect personal information with safeguards suited to its sensitivity, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections to this site, access limited to the people who need it, multi-factor authentication, and the security controls of our Microsoft cloud services.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email us and we’ll respond within 30 days.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
